(WPDE) — Projected president-elect Joe Biden's pooch, Major, is set to be the first rescue dog in the White House.

The Bidens adopted Major in 2018 from the Delaware Humane Association after fostering the German Shepherd, according to the Delaware Humane Association and NBC News.

"The Bidens have gotten to know Major while fostering him and are now ready to make the adoption official. Best of luck and thank you for being one of our Friends for life!" the post reads.

Major will share the title of "first dog" with the Bidens' other dog, Champ, which is also a German Shepherd.
