PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WJLA) - Joanne Byrd Rogers, the late Fred Rogers's widow, visited newborn babies at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital Wednesday.

But it wasn't just any visit. She was there for Cardigan Day/World Kindness Day, which coincide on November 13. Mr. Rogers is a celebrated figure on the holiday, for obvious reasons, and the hospital had dressed newborns in crocheted red cardigans for the occasion.

A photo gallery shared on the hospital's Facebook page show Joanne admiring the babies, who looked like miniature versions of Fred as he appeared on his show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.

Joanne was Fred Rogers's college sweetheart, according to his website.

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital says the cardigans were crocheted by Caitlin Pechin, a nurse at the hospital.
