WASHINGTON (SBG) - Where do you get into the holiday spirit? Personal finance website WalletHub has ranked the best cities in the country to celebrate Christmas.

Orlando, Fla., a city better known for palm trees than Christmas trees, topped the list of 100 cities included in the report. Las Vegas, Nev., New York, N.Y., Atlanta, Ga. and Pittsburgh, Pa. round out the five highest ranking cities.

If you are scheduled to "Meet Me In Saint Louis," you still may "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" even though the setting of the classic Judy Garland musical film missed the top ten cities at number 11. The nation's capital, despite the festive National Christmas Tree and the White House's annual Christmas decorations, ranked just behind.

The report, published Dec. 18, calculated the ratings with metrics based on several "key dimensions"- holiday attractions, shopping, religious observance, charitable giving and costs. WalletHub notes that they created the list to help inform consumers' spending habits as Americans are projected to spend as much as $720 billion this holiday season.

"Beyond ensuring its affordability, a successful holiday also hinges on a location’s Christmas-friendliness. Typical Christmas activities include shopping, dining out and attending holiday events, so the availability of such options can make all the difference," reads the summary of the results.

Now that you know where to have a holly jolly holiday, how do you avoid a blue Christmas?

In last place on the list is another Florida city, Hialeah, a city in the Miami metropolitan area with a 25 percent poverty rate. Hialeah also ranked dead last in another recent WalletHub report on financial fitness.

The bottom five include places out West including San Bernardino, Calif. and Laredo, Texas, which are comparatively less populated than the cities that are best ranked.
